This page contains the dates of the 2023 Open Online Course. It serves as a reference for future editions, or as a suggested planning for self-study.

Here you will find the most important dates and information you need to plan your course participation. Please note that all times are in Central European Time (GMT+1). We have designed the course to be flexible and interactive so that you can get the most out of your learning experience.

Overview of important dates for Quantum Quest:

• Kick-off meeting: The opening ceremony will take place on Monday, 30 October 2023, from 16:30 to 17:30.

• Quest 1-5: The actual course runs for the following five weeks. The weekly schedule is described in more detail below. There is also the possibility to limit oneself to the first 3 quests (more about this here).

• Closing ceremony: The Closing Ceremony is scheduled for Friday 15 December 2023 (details to follow).

Weekly meetings and schedule:

• Each week a chapter (“quest”) is worked through. You can work on the quest at any time during the week and exchange ideas with others on the Discord server.

• On Thursdays there is an online meeting from 16:30 to 17:15: Here you can ask questions and get tips for the homework. This is also a good opportunity to exchange ideas with other participants! These meetings are both streamed online and recorded, so you can watch the videos at any time. You are also welcome to attend the meeting in person at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum or the University of Amsterdam if you live nearby. The meetings start in English, but are then split into German, English and Dutch sessions as needed. We recommend to look at the respective chapter before the Thursday meeting!

• Sunday (23:59): Deadline for handing in the weekly homework.
